Coronavirus: US economy has shrunk at its lowest rate since 2008 – BBC News
In the first quarter of the year that the U.S. economy suffered for more than a decade, the contraction was more severe as the country imposed blockades to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The world’s largest economy sank at an annual rate of 4.8%, according to official data released on Wednesday.
It marked the first contraction since 2014, ending with the expansion of records.
The numbers only highlight the whole crisis, as many of the reductions were not implemented until March.
