Satellite images show another favorable point of view of the large scale of damage being dealt to areas of Germany following the major floods hit last week.
The death toll from the floods in Germany has reached 177, according to the Associated Press, and more than 150 people are still missing while cleaning efforts continue.
Another 31 deaths have been confirmed in Belgium, bringing the total death toll from the flood disaster to more than 200.
Entire cities were flooded, with roads and bridges washed away by the water, as can be seen in the photos above. Most of the greatest damage occurred in the West German state of Rhineland-Palatinate along the Ahr River.
The extent of the damage has not yet been determined, but reconstruction is expected to cost billions. The German cabinet on Wednesday approved a package of roughly 400m euros to help flood victims.
More than 4,500 civil defense workers, firefighters and soldiers have been deployed for clean-up efforts, the AP reported.
