CNBC International signs ITV's Deep Bagchee as President
Deep Bagchee, a driving force behind the launch of ITVX, is leaving to become President of CNBC International.
Bagchee replaces John Casey, who Deadline revealed was stepping down late last year after almost 30 years with the news network. An interim team had been put in place over the past few months.
Bagchee's role will see him oversee the news network's editorial output outside the US, building its operations and audience across TV, digital, social, audio and live events. Bagchee broke the news on X a few days ago.
As ITV's first chief product officer, Bagchee was one of the driving forces behind ITVX, the free-to-air streaming service launched by the public broadcaster about a year and a half ago that was an evolution of its predecessor ITV Hub. He joined ITV in September 2021.
An ITV spokeswoman said succession plans for Bagchee would be announced in the next two months and he would stay with the broadcaster until the summer.
“Deep Bagchee will be leaving ITV to take up the role of President of CNBC International,” she added. “This is a fantastic opportunity for Deep and ITV wishes him every success in his new role.”
