Health officials have identified cases of delta mutant coronavirus in the New Orleans region and added them to approximately 12 cases in Louisiana.
The LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine said Friday that the diagnosis was the first delta variant identified in Region 1 of Louisiana, including the parish of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard. The school did not elaborate on individuals who tested positive for the delta mutant.
