More than $ 250,000 Raised on Stride Walk for Breast Cancer

Buffalo, NY (WIVB) —Even in the rain, western New Yorkers appear for good reason.
Thousands of people strapped their sneakers and hit the pavement on Saturday morning during the American Cancer Society’s annual “Counter Breast Cancer” walk.
Survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and community members gathered in pink to raise funds for breast cancer research and programs.
The organizers told News 4 that it was heartwarming to see the 3,000 pedestrians who stopped by to support the cause.
“The community always comes out in such an exciting way, even in the rain like today, in our lovely Western New York-type weather,” said Associate Director of Development at the American Cancer Society. Chris Farzarano said. “It’s always very exciting to see how this community comes together to support this goal.”
The American Cancer Society says more than $ 250,000 has been raised since the event on Saturday.
