State Reports 35 New Coronavirus Deaths and 103 New Cases-News-Taunton Daily Gazette, Taunton, Massachusetts
The Boston-Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 35 new COVID-19-related deaths across the state on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 8,095.
In addition, state health authorities reported 101 newly identified cases of COVID-19, totaling 108,768.
DPH has recently begun to report both confirmed and putative cases. Of the new cases reported on Monday, 12 are possible. None of the newly reported deaths fell into the estimated category.
As of Monday, 762 patients with the virus were hospitalized in Massachusetts, a 17% reduction from a week ago. There are 138 COVID-19 patients reported to be in ICU, a 23% decrease from a week ago. In addition, 79 patients were intubated, a decrease of 26% compared to 1 week ago.
The average positive rate for 7 days was 1.9%, down from 6.6% a month ago. The average number of hospitalizations over three days was 760, down from 1,906 a month ago. The average number of deaths over three days is 19 people, down from 55 one month ago.
Morton Hospital has reported four patients, one of whom belongs to the ICU. One week ago, there were 5 patients in the ICU.
Charlton has reported 22 patients with coronavirus, 4 of whom are in the ICU. A week ago, there were 66 patients and 13 in the ICU.
St Luke’s Hospital has reported 22 patients, four in the ICU. A week ago, there were 18 patients, one of whom was in the ICU.
There are 4 patients in St Annes and none in ICU. A week ago there were zero patients.
As of June 24, weekly data suggest that 91,404 patients in Massachusetts were released from quarantine and recovered from the virus.
