New Orleans Rising Scale Coronavirus Due to the incident and the dramatic increase elsewhere, the Director of the City Health Department has been worried for her for several months.

According to Avenyo, the continued increase in cases could return the city to a path of exponential spread similar to that seen at the outbreak’s onset.
“Today I am more worried than in the last few months,” said Avegno. “The trends in the data we see are even more of a concern in our neighboring parish, and in our neighboring states, they are quite alarming.”
Incidents have surged throughout the state, reaching levels not seen since early April when Louisiana was in the midst of an outbreak. Five of the top ten days since the outbreak began in the past week and a half.
Overall, this week’s state cases are 70% higher than the previous week.
In New Orleans, cases remain low, but cases are increasing. An average of 46 cases were reported every day in the past week, an increase of 80% compared to the situation one week ago. But even if increased, new cases in the city are just a few of the hundreds of infections reported each day when New Orleans was the center of the state’s pandemic.
The average number of cases per day remains below 50, with the Cantrell administration saying it could lead to tighter regulations.
“New Orleans has become the national leader in COVID response…we had the highest diffusion rates and didn’t crush that curve like other cities. And we were limited We crushed that curve with resources and ignored all the odds of doing so,” Williams said. “But just because you lead the race, you don’t win that race unless you increase that pace. The COVID isn’t over. People are still sick, people are dying .”
In the midst of the increase, Avengo announced that community-wide test sites could only provide 250 tests per day due to problems in procuring equipment to handle the tests. Test drop-offs can pose serious concerns as they can limit the authorities’ ability to track the spread of the virus.
According to Avenyo, the city has sought assistance from federal agencies to raise test limits.
“We are working on a solution, and we hope it will be resolved in the near future,” she said.
The Department of Health, Louisiana, reported Thursday’s daily noon update with 1,383 more cases of coronavirus, 17 deaths, and 41 more hospitalizations.
