Three more deaths recorded in Montana as incidents soar
Helena, Mon. (AP) — Yellowstone County health officials confirmed Thursday that three people were killed in a COVID-19 outbreak at a memory care facility in Billings.
A woman in her 70s died on Monday, a woman in her 80s died on Wednesday, a man in her 90s died on Thursday, and the state’s COVID-19 deaths totaled 26. All Canyon Creek Memory Care patients report 66 patients, including 45 of the population’s virus. All three people died in the facility, according to county health officials.
Health officials were waiting for the COVID-19 test to be processed, so Monday’s death was not reported until Thursday, officials said.
“I recall that the exiles of these residents made our most vulnerable community members (elderly, immunocompromised, those with chronic illnesses) particularly at risk. Almost half of the cases reported on Thursday were in Yellowstone County, with 46 new cases.
