The South Carolina Department of Health and Environment (DHEC) announced on Sunday that there were 2,335 new confirmed cases and one possible COVID-19 case.
This resulted in a total of 69,765 confirmed cases, an estimated 221 cases, 1138 confirmed deaths and 17 estimated deaths.
According to DHEC, Sunday case data includes 526 newly confirmed cases from July 17th received by DHEC from a private laboratory on July 18th.

As part of an ongoing effort to increase testing in underserved and rural areas across the state, DHEC has partnered with community partners to set up mobile test clinics to provide testing to these communities. Hospital bed occupancy
Currently, according to the DHEC, the number of hospital beds occupied by patients who test positive or are under investigation for COVID-19, and the number of patients currently on ventilator cannot be reported.
At the request of the federal government, DHEC is moving from CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) COVID-19 module to TeleTracking’s US Healthcare COVID-19 portal for monitoring hospital bed occupancy data. DHEC will report from TeleTracking that there is sufficient participation and accuracy. There may be incomplete data with a large gap in the next few days.
