Now accepting reservations for the spring new coronavirus vaccine

The NHS is encouraging people aged over 75 and other eligible people to book an appointment for a coronavirus vaccine this spring.
The following cases are eligible for spring vaccination:
- Over 75 years old
- live in a care home
- More than 6 months old and has a severely weakened immune system (often known as immunosuppression)
Dr Helen Wall, clinical director of population health at NHS Greater Manchester, said: “Viruses change, so the protection provided by vaccines can wane over time and become less effective. The spring vaccines will ‘top up’ existing protection.
“For some people, the coronavirus may feel like a bad cold, but for people with weakened immune systems and the elderly, it can cause serious illness and life-threatening complications. There are risks. So if you're eligible, make sure to make an appointment. By getting vaccinated, you're not only protecting your own health, but also those around you.”
The NHS is sending eligible people a text, email, NHS app message or letter. But there's no need to wait. Eligible people can book a vaccine via the NHS website, www.nhs.uk/book-vaccine, the app or by calling 119 for free, and parents and carers can You can make a reservation. Vaccinate children under 16 years of age.

The first reservation will be available for participation from Monday, April 22, 2024, and the last reservation will be on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
