Coronavirus case numbers “unchanging” in the UK

According to the UK Census Bureau, coronavirus levels in the UK community remain “unchanged” for the week to 25 August.
The latest survey of household members estimated that there were about 2,000 new cases of coronavirus per day.
This suggests that overall case numbers remain stable despite outbreaks in some areas.

As part of the ONS study, another type of test-antibody tests using blood samples-was conducted on 7,000 people looking for evidence of previously infected people.
The results suggest that about 6% of the population (1 in 17) have been infected with coronavirus in the past.
This is equivalent to 2.7 million people in the UK.
