Furious Snowdonia locals block tourist cars until police arrive during coronavirus blockade

During the coronavirus blockade, a man visiting North Wales from England was blocked on a rural road by angry locals.

Police were also called into conflict as the firing locals told him to block in his car and go home.

It happened after a Birmingham man in a camper drove to Devon on Saturday-packing was only sent by police.

Police were called for conflict in a narrow lane near the town of Barra in Gwynedd.

The confrontation occurred on Saturday morning with both the North Wales Police and Snowdonia National Park observers present.

Rose, Ald Wyn Williams of Parc was one of two local men who faced visitors when people were at home and urged to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Mr Williams said he was angry at the lack of respect shown by the visitors and stopped on the road with his friend Oswin Roberts.

“He has left Rose and the main road,” said Williams.

“I drove along the road and stopped him. A friend Oswin Roberts came behind and blocked him.”

Part of the incident was filmed, and Williams said visitors would call the police.

“I said I had called the police because I was intimidated,” Williams said.

“I told him everything we did was to encourage him to go home. If he hadn’t called the police, I would have done so.”

According to a spokesperson for the North Wales Police: “Police were called at 10:12 am this morning for a report that a man had been blocked on a rural rose road.

“The officers were present and given the appropriate advice.”
