Australia
The countryside of Australia was used for seclusion, but Covid-19 gave it a whole new meaning to Australian news | Instant news
Strange, this corona virus appears from a small rural town. The news coverage from wall to wall that distinguishes all our days contradicts the rhythm of our lives.
On a large-scale farm, isolated work does not change away from small things. We clean tractors and vehicles. We are feeding families that have gone home to wait for the peak of the virus, while trying to ensure that the connection can handle online university lectures and business conferences.
Agricultural supplies must be called in advance and there is a huge demand for regular inputs – seeds, spare parts and chemicals.
However, a trip to the city revealed a degree of closure. Bars, cafes, beauty salons and gift shops have been closed for some time. With streets that already contain empty parts of empty spaces, this is of concern.
Supermarkets – independent – are busier than before, but find it difficult to fulfill their demands. Supplies of pasta, bread and toilet paper are low or missing.

Most pharmacy rooms are attached to ropes. The products are sent by the employees to ensure that the goods are not contaminated. Small Town Pharmacies are the front lines of supplies and consulting. The flu vaccine ran out at the start of the season.
At the end of the road, cafes and bars in popular tourist stations were turned back home. Business owners urge customers to avoid their local backwardness on the road. The police pass to observe the social distance.
It is frustrating, but people do not complain. The common theme is how fortunate we are to live in a densely populated city.
“What do you do when there is no other medical staff?”
If there is concern, it is about availability of the test and the time required for the results. People with Covid-like symptoms have been afflicted with stringent standards and limited test groups.
This is especially true for health workers, who need to be excluded from the list if they suspect and test. Results of tests that may take eight hours in the city resemble three or four days of rotation and in some rural areas for up to one week, which may leave most of the list of health services.
Amanda Kenny, a professor of rural health at La Trobe University, described the typical health service in small towns where a doctor or two doctors and a list of nurses, office staff and hygiene workers, all of whom might be exposed, might be exposed.
Often times, the hospital, like my home, doubles as an elderly care facility, which increases the level of difficulty for employees working throughout the building. The doctor himself often serves his general practice and small emergency rooms in the hospital.
Kenny said: “The biggest threat to small communities is business problems.” “Smaller services risk doctors’ illnesses. If they are infected, what do you do when there is no other medical staff?”
Kenny praised the Telehealth Initiative, but said that more support was needed, especially for parents, whose visits to general practitioners were important not only for health but also for emotional relationships.
Dr. Joe McGuire, an independent deputy for the New South Wales seat in Wagga and the emergency doctor, is extremely concerned about the social isolation of parents who cannot access online.
“These are the people who go in the daily newspapers every day to pick up paper and meet some people on the street. This is their news service.” McGear said: “They don’t have Facebook.”

For many rural and remote cities, the Royal Flying Doctors Service will provide medical services as well as evacuate patients to large hospitals.
The federation’s executive director, Frank Quinlan, said that the RFDS faced unusual tensions to ensure they entered the community to provide medical services and evacuation, without transmitting the virus to isolated locations.
“All of these societies face the same health problems they would have faced without them [Covid-19]Quinlan said. “Transportation with people suffering from infectious diseases, or suspected, is a routine part of our business so we are ready.”
‘This is a great opportunity’
The outbreak was closely followed by the horrific summer of forest fires in the eastern states, and the need to effectively isolate closed firefighting centers designed to support communities to cope with the loss of property, businesses and livestock.
Cities such as Batlow and Tumbarumba were destroyed in New South Wales, as it lost most of its cultivated and softwood industries. Internet connection is also a problem in these areas, making home and business study frustrating and worsening locking difficulties.
In Western Australia, Longan Hills, pig, orange and wheat growers, Sue Middleton has spent the past two months reorganizing her workforce to enable isolation and keep employees healthy, protect families, and allow products to continue marketing.
He sent pork to Singapore and elsewhere, so he welcomed the federal government’s help in exporting, after a lack of capacity, shipping costs increased six times for their business.
Middleton said communication was still a major problem, but he hoped that if the hurdle was overcome, Australia’s rural areas would appear in a more competitive place to attract residents.
It is believed that if telehealth and communication are promoted, rural communities can compete with the comparative advantage of cities that provide employment and access to health.
He said, “There is a great opportunity for Australia’s countryside.”

Andrew Van, Vice President of Charles Sturt University in Orange, said that regional universities were ready to provide external services, but he was concerned about their impact on the regional economy.
“We are concerned about losing economic capacity,” Van said. “We should be here to train people.” “There are risks to the future of Australia’s regional economy in all of these cities.”
But, like Middleton, he is optimistic about the rural future.
“I think the waves have shifted to support regional Australia,” Van said. “I think people will say, do I really want to be with 6 million people when I know I can work from home?”
