North Dakota reports first death from COVID-19 in 4 days
Bismarck, North Dakota (AP) — Health officials in North Dakota reported the first four-day death from the coronavirus, confirming three deaths in a Tuesday update.
A total of 1,355 people have died since the pandemic began. According to data compiled by the COVID Tracking Project on Monday, North Dakota’s death toll fell from sixth to seventh per capita, killing about 178 per 100,000.
According to authorities, 248 of the approximately 6,100 tests on the final day were positive, with a positive rate of 4.62%. As a result, the total number of cases increased to 94,968. The number of hospitalizations decreased by 4 to 70.
The North Dakota COVID-19 vaccine update, announced on Tuesday, showed that the state had 41,288 out of 52,525 vaccinations received as of Sunday. Health officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment on vaccination.
