Turea County Nursing Home Becomes COVID-19 Hotspot
Tulare County, California (KGPE) -More than 11 residents of another Tulare County Nursing Home have tested positive for COVID-19. The Lindsay Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility is the second virus-infected facility in Tulare County.
The Lindsay Garden administration notified Tulare County Public Health shortly after observing symptomatic residents. Those residents were tested and investigations began to determine the cause.

The Redwood Springs Health Center in Viseria was the first nursing home in Tulare County to report a virus outbreak. Currently, 106 inhabitants show a positive reaction with 48 staff and 7 others. There are eight deaths associated with Redwood Springs. There is no evidence of cross-contamination between facilities.
“Nursing homes are completely independent, so that’s a very different reason,” said Tammie Weyker-Adkins of Tulare County Health and Human Services. “So I’m doing a contact follow-up to find out how it might have happened at Lindsey Gardens. Other housing properties aren’t sure who brought it to their property.”
Health officials say the safety and health of residents and workers in nursing homes is a top priority.
“Tulare County Public Welfare is very concerned about these residential and well-trained nursing homes. We contact them weekly to make sure they are up to date with their guidelines, And make sure they understand the proper PPE protocol.
Tulare County health officials have warned that locating the source of Lindsey Gardens may take some time.
