KCK rehabilitation facility reports four new deaths from COVID-19

The United Government’s Department of Health reported on Thursday four new deaths due to COVID-19 at the River Bend Post Acute Rehabilitation Facility, which brought the total death toll to 19 people. Health officials provided a timeline of clusters of cases in a news release on Thursday that said 10 residents were hospitalized.From March 24 to March 27, Riverbend staff had COVID-19 symptoms. Authorities said staff members later confirmed they had the virus. Admitted to work without proper PPE. As of April 13, UGGPD suspects that many patients may have been exposed during this period. However, investigations are still in progress to determine if this was the first exposure or there may have been previous exposure to the virus at the facility. Test March 30: Staff member test results returned. KDHE and UGPHD have been notified. UGPHD staff tried to contact the patient but was unable to contact this individual. UGPHD had no information about where the patient was working at this time.
