Actual number killed by coronavirus in care home may be 7,500-not 217
According to major industry groups, there are concerns that as many as 7,500 people have died after being infected with coronavirus in nursing homes.

According to Hancock, the Care Quality Committee (CQC) began collecting data on deaths related to Covid-19 that occurred in both hospitals and nursing homes on Thursday.
He told the Health and Social Welfare Committee on Friday: “I’m also concerned about this. Specifically, I told CQC whether I died in a hospital that was a resident of a nursing home, or whether I died in a nursing home. Hancock did not specify exactly when and how often this data would be published.
