Back County Postpones Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Clinic Until Saturday
Bucks County has postponed the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Clinic in Warwick until Saturday.
It was announced late Wednesday night after federal officials gathered to discuss reports of rare but serious thrombotic side effects associated with the one-shot vaccine. There was no resolution from the meeting that revealed that one of the women who experienced this problem came from the “New Jersey-Pennsylvania region”.
State Health officials confirmed Thursday that the woman was a resident of Pennsylvania.
Bucks County Community College’s three campuses and other Bucks clinics at Nesha Minnie Mall continue. These sites administer Pfizer vaccine.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health ordered a state-wide suspension of J & J vaccine use on Tuesday as federal officials are investigating reported blood coagulation reactions in six women nationwide.
On Thursday, it extended its suspension until April 24, or until the CDC issued additional guidance.
Providers are working on rescheduling appointments so that the state accelerates vaccination eligibility and includes all people over the age of 16 who wish to be vaccinated.
Back County has postponed 6,500 reservations from Tuesday to Saturday.
The county is working to reschedule this week’s appointments with a two-week delay to provide the same times and days as before.
County officials said in a statement that they set a daily record of 3,401 first and second doses at the remaining clinics on Tuesday and are planning about 14,000 shots this week.
By Tuesday, all Buck County providers had 322,412 vaccinations, 123,108 were fully vaccinated and 89,157 were partially vaccinated, the county said.
The state reported 278 new COVID infections in Bucks on Tuesday. The 7-day average for new cases is 285 per day. Six deaths were reported, bringing the number of pandemic deaths to 1,201. 97 patients are admitted to Back County hospitals. Twenty-four of them are in the intensive care unit, and 12 of them are on ventilators.
