“Let’s stay focused”: N.B. states relax restrictions, prime minister warns against violation of public health rules-New Brunswick
Brain Higgs and Chief Health Officer Dr. Jennifer Russell have called on New Bruns Wickers to comply with public health rules after the first weekend of relaxed restrictions in the state.
“It’s not free for everyone,” Higgs said on Monday in a daily update of the state.
“If people start joining the cross-family bubble gathering right now, we can see the revival of COVID-19.”
On Friday, the state launched a four-stage reconstruction plan. In the first phase, you can also create bubbles for two families while focusing on outdoor activities.
But, according to Dr. Russell, the success of the virus depends on those who follow the rules of public health, enamored with the taste of the little freedom that the new rules bring.
“I’m also very aware that New Bruns Wickers may have been infected by having a multi-family gathering or neighborhood gathering. It’s not really okay at this stage.” Dr. Russell said.

“We need to understand the temptations to take these risks, but it is really important for the public to understand that it is not worth it.”

Higgs stressed that it is not the time to look for a loophole in rules that could have dire consequences.
“People often try to find ways to expand loopholes and rules. We take the risk of infecting a loved one and expand rules,” he said.
“Let’s stay focused. Keep a strong record. We can do this together.”

New Brunswick spent nine days without the new case of COVID-19. Of the 118 confirmed cases in the state, only 6 are active and 3 have the virus.
If the number of incidents in the state surges, regulations may be imposed, but authorities are urging the public to comply with the rules.
Over the weekend, calls to the government’s “snitchline” surged from 617 the previous weekend to 758. Twenty-two tickets were issued last week to break local orders. 77 cases have been issued since the emergency was declared in March.
Mr Higgs said enforcement would be strengthened as regulations were eased.
“Because of the high risk, we will be more scrutinizing and, as I said, the fines will continue,” Higgs said. “We’re at this stage right now and don’t want to step back.”
