Today’s Illinois COVID Update: IL reports 401 cases and 8 deaths
The news comes from the fact that more than half of Illinois’s adults are fully vaccinated.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, there have been a total of 1,382,587 COVID cases, including 22,835 deaths in the state.
Within the last 24 hours, the institute reports that it has tested a total of 24,640,360 24,273 samples since the pandemic began.
The state-wide preliminary test positive rate for the seven days from May 25th to May 31st is 1.9%.

As of Monday night, 1,031 patients in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 284 patients were in the ICU and 162 COVID-19 patients were on mechanical ventilation.
As of Monday night, a total of 11,308,983 vaccines have been administered in Illinois. The 7-day moving average of daily vaccines is 45,545. There were 17,077 doses reported on Monday in Illinois.
According to authorities, 67% of adults in Illinois have been vaccinated at least once, and nearly 51% have been fully vaccinated.
The fatalities reported on Tuesday are:
-Cook County: 2 women in their 40s, 1 woman in their 50s, 1 man in their 50s, 1 man in their 60s, 1 woman in their 70s, 1 man in their 70s, a man in their 90s 1 person.
