Iran's Foreign Ministry on Sunday summoned the ambassadors of Britain, France and Germany to inquire about their “irresponsible stance” on Tehran's retaliatory attacks on Israel, the semi-official Iranian Labor News Agency reported.

Three European countries condemned Iran's drone and missile attacks on Israel from Saturday night to Sunday, which they said were retaliation for Israel's bombing of its consulate in Syria on April 1.

Iran's Foreign Ministry's Western European affairs director accused three countries of “double standards” in opposing a UN Security Council statement written by Russia condemning Israel's attack on Iran's embassy in Syria earlier this month.

“Iran’s military actions against the Zionist regime’s (Israel) bases are within the framework of the right to legitimate defense provided for in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and are a response to a series of crimes, including recent attacks on embassies and compounds in Syria,” the official added. .

The G7, which includes France, Germany and Britain, is expected to hold a video call later Sunday to discuss Iran's latest attacks.
