The average age of death from Utah COVID will drop by 10 years from early July

For the second consecutive day, well over 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Utah. There were 1,280 cases on Thursday and 1,488 cases on Wednesday.
The 7-day rolling average for new cases increased from 1,004 to 1,010. This is the highest average since February 11th.
The average age of Utahns dying from coronavirus has dropped significantly in the past few weeks. According to the Salt Lake Tribune analysis, it was 74 from the beginning of the pandemic until July 2, but after that it was about 64. Of the 14 deaths reported on Thursday, seven were among people under the age of 64.
14 Utahns have been added to the death toll. According to the Utah Department of Health, five of these deaths occurred before July 19 and were added to the total after further testing.
Since February 23, more than nine people have died in just one day, and on July 31, there were ten.
The number of cases is 392 more than one week ago (888 on August 12). It is more than double that of one month ago (566 on July 19th) and almost five times that of three months ago (265 on May 19th). Six months ago, there were 783 new cases (February 19). And a year ago, there were 458 new cases (August 19, 2020).
In the last four weeks, unvaccinated Utahn was 5.5 times more likely to die of COVID-19 than vaccinated people, according to UDOH analysis. Unvaccinated people were 6.3 times more likely to be hospitalized and 4.9 times more likely to test positive for coronavirus.
The other day, another 3,563 Utah states were fully vaccinated, bringing the total to 1,535,444. That’s 46.9% of Utah’s total population.
According to UDOH, there were 7,757 “breakthrough” cases of COVID-19 in Utah. These are people who become infected with the virus more than two weeks after being completely vaccinated. This is about 1 in 198 people who are fully vaccinated.
Of that number, 460 are hospitalized, about 1 in 3,338 wholly vaccinated. And there were 34 dead. 1 in 45,160 fully vaccinated.

Cases reported in the last day • 1,280.
Deaths reported in the last day • 14.14.
Five people died in Salt Lake County: men aged 25-44, men and women aged 45-64, and men and women aged 65-84.
San Juan County reported the deaths of two men and women aged 65-84. Two men aged 45-64 and a man aged 65-84 have died in Utah County. And two dead in Weber County — 45-64 men and 65-84 men.
45-64 women in Cache County and women over 85 in Sanpete County also died.
Tests reported in the last day • 7,878 people were tested for the first time. A total of 13,028 people were tested.
Hospitalizations reported in the last day • 399. That’s one more than Wednesday. Of the patients currently hospitalized, 162 are in the intensive care unit, seven more than Wednesday.
Percentage of positive tests • The state-specific method is 16.2%. This is higher than the 7-day average of 13.9%.
The new state method counts all test results, including repeated tests for the same individual. Thursday’s rate was 9.8%, about the same as the 7-day average of 9.9%.

Total up to now • 450,539 cases; 2,563 deaths. 19,547 hospitalizations; 3,043,699 tested.
According to the Salt Lake County Health Department 36 cases of COVID-19 Reported at schools in the county in the last two weeks — and 16 of those cases Pacific Heritage Academy In Salt Lake City, which started school on August 2nd, earlier than most other schools. At the other 15 schools, students tested positive. All cases are less than 5.
The Pacific Heritage Academy enrolls approximately 325 students from kindergarten to high school.
