Lansing, Michigan. – According to the State Department of Health, the first West Nile virus case of the year in Michigan was found in residents of Oakland and Macomb counties.
Wayne, McComb, Auckland, Bay, Kent, and Midland counties, along with the city of Detroit, tested positive against mosquitoes tested for West Nile and Jameson Canyon viruses last week. Deer in Livingston County tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
