The new education policy approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday is a long overdue reform in the education sector that will transform millions of lives in the times to come, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

He also said that in the knowledge age where learning, research and innovation are important, the new policy will transform India into a vibrant knowledge center.

In a series of tweets, he said the new education policy is based on the pillars of “access, equity, quality, accessibility and accountability”.

“I wholeheartedly welcome the approval of the National Education Policy 2020. It was a long overdue reform in the education sector that will transform millions of lives in the times to come. .. May education enlighten our nation and lead it to prosperity, ”he said.
