Erdogan arrives in Rio for G20 summit focused on justice and sustainability
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan landed in Brazil on Sunday afternoon to attend the G20 Leaders' Summit, an event aimed at addressing global challenges under the theme of building a just world and a sustainable planet.
Erdogan arrived at Galeao Air Base, where he was greeted by Trkiyes Ambassador to Brazil Halil Ibrahim Akca and officials from the Brazilian Foreign Ministry. The president was accompanied by first lady Emine Erdogan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and other senior Turkish officials.
The summit, which brings together leaders of 19 major economies, the European Union and the African Union, will take place Monday and Tuesday. Discussions will focus on three main sessions, including economic resilience, climate action and social inclusion.
During the event, Erdogan is expected to participate in bilateral meetings with other G20 leaders and other world officials, which will provide an opportunity for Trkiye to highlight his position on international cooperation and sustainable development.
This year's G20 marks an important gathering as the bloc seeks to balance the priorities of developed and emerging economies while addressing pressing global concerns.
