COVID-19 exposure warning posted for two grocery stores in Metro Vancouver
Vancouver-Two Metro Vancouver grocery stores have posted COVID-19 exposure warnings earlier this month.
Recently, Sobeys posted on a website Tuesday, stating that some employees at Safeway at 12825 16 Ave. had virus-positive employees.
According to the company, the employee’s last working day was August 1.
In addition, three employees on the Safeway at 8860 152 St. tested positive for viruses. Warnings about these potential COVID-19 exposures were posted on the Sobeys website on August 11, 9, and 4.
Two of these employees last worked on August 1st and a third last worked on July 30th.
“Respecting our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never disclose any personal information about our employees. We will do everything possible to support our teammates and keep them safe.” The Sobeys website describes possible exposure.
“If necessary, we’ll walk through the steps to manage the situation with the shop signboards with customers who shopped in the affected area.”
Earlier this week, state health official Dr. Bonnie Henry said efforts should be made to minimize exposure accidents to anyone in the state during the briefing.
“We need to collectively do better to prevent these exposure events from happening,” she said on Monday.
But Henry also emphasized on multiple occasions that contract tracking is an important and useful way to stop the spread of the virus.
End of last month, Surrey’s Real Canadian Superstore has announced that one of its employees has been confirmed to be infected with the virus. Earlier in the pandemic, two Walmart locations and another superstore posted similar warnings.
