Dale is Clare’s favorite. The other guys aren’t happy.
A villain makes an ironic exit. An unimportant one-on-one date ends with such an awkward goodbye. And suspicious competitors begin to weigh in by sending themselves home. Tuesday’s episode of “The Bachelorette” has to be one of the Bachelor Nation history books.
We’re picking up where we left off last week: the cocktail before starClare Crawley’s second rose ceremony. She has already given a surprise rose to Blake Moynes, whom she wanted to reassure after some drama earlier in the week that alienated her fellow contenders. But that doesn’t even begin to reach the unpredictability that awaits us.
Last week:“Does anyone want to hang out with me?” A drama looms between Clare and her ‘Bachelorette’ men
“ I expected much more from the older Bachelorette ”
Yosef, the 30-year-old Alabama native, who in the last episode protested the nudity on the date of the dodgeball group (which he was not a part of), believes Clare made a decision “without class “for guys to strip down to thong underwear during the game.
The rest of the guys are trying to calm him down. Ivan hopes he doesn’t try to make Clare a villain for what he thought was just harmless fun, but Yosef can’t be convinced otherwise. He apparently needs to “wash my hands of this atrocity.”
He sits down with Clarean and tells her that as the father of a young girl he was embarrassed to be associated with a woman who thought striptease play was appropriate, and said she had the looked “a little crazy” on her group date after expressing concern that none of the men wanted to talk to her.
Things quickly get out of hand: Clare tries to intervene to say that she understands his concerns about her daughter (which is why he wasn’t picked for the date) and thinks he’s missing a moment. important in family (his mother suffers from Alzheimer’s), but Yosef explodes after trying to spread a word.
Clare sets the record straight. “The way you talk to me right now? Never in a million years have I thought I should say those words again. Don’t talk to me like that. I never thought I would say to anyone. what a man I would never want him to be the father of my child, ”she said, echoing those famous words she had said to“ Bachelor ”Juan Pablo Galavis six years earlier.
“I expected a lot more from the oldest bachelorette party in history,” Yosef said, rushing. “She’s yours, boys.
Despite everything he worries about embarrassing his family on national television, Yosef isn’t too worried about yelling insults at a woman until she starts crying. Suffice it to say he’s out.
‘I’m not content’:Clare Crawley teases ‘Bachelorette’ pandemic season, talks about ‘blowing up’ series
“Sit there and say ‘you’re the oldest bachelor’ guess what?” I’m the oldest bachelor, this 39-year-old bachelor standing here, because I didn’t settle for men like that, ”Clare said.
Dale rushes over to comfort her. He says all the right things, and Clare realizes that’s exactly what she wants: a man like Dale “to make sure I don’t have to live on my own.”
She is no longer ready to speak and just wants to go straight to the rose ceremony. It makes sense given everything that’s happened, but the guys who haven’t had time with her feel rushed. Blake Monar, Garin and Tyler S. say goodbye.
“Could we somehow hurry the rest of the night?”
Clare invites Jason, Jay, Eazy, Chasen, BlakeMoynes, Ed, Riley and Dale on her first group date, which is supposed to “separate the men from the boys.”
But first, she gets some advice from 2008 “Bachelorette” DeAnna Pappas, who says she can see in Clare’s face that she has feelings for Dale. We also find out that Dale gifted Clare these pants that he ripped on the last group date. Romantic!
The tour takes so long that the group’s date part of the day is canceled, and Clare tells the eight men that they’re just going to host a longer cocktail party instead.
Dale steps in to ask if he can have just “five minutes” with Clare. They head to Clare’s bedroom for a heart to heart about what happened with Yosef.
“Even for you to wear yourself the way you did, I’m proud of you,” he said. “That’s all I wanted to do tonight: check in, let you know I’m here and just say I’m proud of you.” It is not at all easy. “
A five minute conversation turns into a long makeup session (guys estimate 40 minutes to an hour) and Eazy goes to find them. When he does, he’s clearly interrupting something. They both laugh as Dale leaves to give Eazy a chance to talk to him.
Eazy and the others are so lucky, but not for long. Clare’s mind is clearly on someone else, and at one point he asks someone off camera if they can “get the rest to hurry.”
The other men of the date are visibly increasingly frustrated with the behavior of Horseman Dale. And if that wasn’t enough, he interrupts Jay’s conversation with her to steal her again. Clare is too happy to welcome him back.
Who is Dale Moss?Meet the favorite, model and former NFL player “ Bachelorette ”
This time, Chasen interrupts and finds the two covering another makeup session. Dale half-heartedly explains that he was “confused” on his way to the bathroom and had no intention of stepping on Clare and Jay. It’s not a compelling story.
But guess who gets the band’s rose? Yeah, Dale. If the others hadn’t already turned on him, they definitely have now.
“I feel like we’re kind of tossed aside for no reason,” Eazy says. “You can see guys just defeated. It’s just disappointing to see people’s minds fundamentally defeated.”
An awkward tête-à-tête with an even more awkward ending
Clare invites Zach J., 37, from Utah, for a spa date. The sparks don’t exactly fly at first, Clare keeps saying in interviews that she just wishes Dale was there.
She tries to stick to the show’s formula and they have a great time talking in the pool until a weird misunderstanding when Zach J. pulls back just before kissing her, which means Clare means he doesn’t. is not interested.
A confused judge Zach, trying to reassure Clare that he made want to kiss her, keep asking her what’s wrong and try to grab her, which doesn’t help. She says they should just get ready for dinner, walks inside alone and explains that she was “triggered” and scared by his action.
“I didn’t want to be around him at the time,” she said.
It doesn’t really bode well when the person you’re dating says that. Chris Harrison informs Zach J., already seated at the dinner table, that Clare will not be joining him, which means he will be sent home.
Zach J. clearly feels remorse for making Clare uncomfortable, but he’s also still confused as to what triggered her initial reaction. Back in the sequels, Eazy says he’s not surprised that another guy was sent home, as Dale is clearly the only one Clare has eyes on.
Dale Moss’ unofficial roast
The second group date was technically for Ben, Bennett, Brendan, Demar, Ivan, Joe, Jordan C., Kenny and Zac C. But where’s the drama in there?
These men will roast the rest of their peers, who will be the audience. Translation: Just when you thought we were done talking about Dale, here it is again.
Actress Margaret Cho joins the “Bachelorette” bubble to help with the roast, much to Joe, who is also Korean American, to the great excitement.
Bennett, the Harvard and Wall Street guy who always looks like he’s stepping off a yacht, knows exactly what kind of jokes are about to come. But he’s more interested in giving it to Dale. He is not the only one.
Almost all of the jokes are Dale jokes, some harmless, some more petty. Clare doesn’t find them funny, but men do. Later at the cocktail party, that’s the only thing she wants to talk about.
“It really feels like right now she’s only interested in Dale in the whole house, to the point where I feel like I’m wasting my time here,” Kenny told the group. “It’s almost like they’re already dating.”
A group rose usually comes after, but Clare announces that she “didn’t get what I needed” from the men that night and wants to sleep on it before rewarding anyone, which the guys say is. worse than anyone else. They all wonder why they should waste their time with a woman who clearly doesn’t care about either of them. Is a generalized disengagement of competitors looming?
Maybe, but that’s not what Clare worries about. Now free from her group date, she jokingly gives herself the rose and tells a producer that she feels “on the right track with Dale.”
Goodbye Clare, hello Tayshia?
A teaser for next week suggests we are getting closer to the big bomb of the season: Clare is set to leave the series and be replaced by former “Bachelor” franchise Tayshia Adams, who takes over as the Bachelorette for the remainder of. the season.
After rumors circulated for months about Tayshia’s intervention, fans got their first glimpse of her this season: She stares at the camera as she steps out in slow motion from a pool that eerily resembles the one she was wearing. we’ve seen Clare and the guys use this season.
