According to scientists, the shortened spike nanoparticle vaccine showed a significantly higher neutralization response than the bound spike or full spike vaccine. After the second dose, they stated that mice receiving the shortened spike nanoparticle vaccine had the highest levels of neutralizing antibodies. Based on the results, scientists at Stanford University said their nanoparticle vaccines can generate Covid-19 immunity with just one dose.
Scientists believe that vaccines can be stored at room temperature and are evaluating whether they can be shipped and stored in the form of lyophilized powders. “This is a really early stage and there is still a lot to do,” said Abigail Powell, lead author of the study.
