Spirit of Competition, Hearthstone's six-year anniversary event, has arrived
It's been six years already Fireplace released its first open beta on March 11, 2014. To celebrate the evolution of the game since then, Blizzard revealed several aspects of his Fireplace anniversary event, Spirit of Competition. The event includes the return of several fights in the tavern, free packs and much more.

Free Card Packs for Spirit of Competition
Celebrate Fireplace turn six years old this week, just connecting to Fireplace grants players a total of six card packs – two packs from each of the recent expansions, Rise of shadows, Saviors of Uldum, and Dragons descent. These packs are available to all players on each server. In addition to these connection awards, the new Year of the Dragon commemorative card is also being awarded. For those playing on multiple servers, be sure to connect to each of them between today and March 17 at 10:00 p.m. PT.
In addition to the first six free card packs, there are five other card packs to be won. These card packs can be earned via Spirit of Competition event quests, granted in addition to the daily quests of Fireplace:
- March 4, 10:00 am PT: Play 2 games in any mode to win one Dragons descent pack of cards.
- March 5, 10:00 am PT: Play 20 cards to win one Rise of shadows and Saviors of Uldum pack of cards.
- March 6, 10:00 am PT: Make 30 laps to win a Rise of shadows and Saviors of Uldum pack of cards.
Tavern Brawls celebration
There are two tavern fights available with the Spirit of Competition event which is six years old. The first is the return of the Burndown! Fight. The Burndown is a favorite among the community. Each player, upon entering the Tavern, is assigned a random deck of cards. After each match, the loser in the series is awarded the winner's game. Ultimately, one of the bridges will reign supreme in the tavern brawl and will be the last standing bridge.
The second is the Hall of Champions Brawl. In the Hall of Champions Brawl, players can play the decks of the Hearthstone World Championship winners. Some games played by world champions have since been modified. To compensate for this, the pre-balance update versions of these decks are available to play in the Hall of Champions Brawl. Pavel Malygos Rogue was a community favorite before.
