Baldwin High School Holds COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Students – CBS Pittsburgh
Baldwin, PA (KDKA) – AHN held a clinic at Baldwin High School for students aged 16-18. Vaccines for children aged 12 to 15 were lined up before they were approved, but clinics for that age group will soon be available.
“Shot is much less painful than my grandparents die, so I thought I’d get it,” said Tim Brooke, a sophomore at Baldwin High School.

Book also obtained the Pfizer vaccine to protect those who are most vulnerable to the virus.
Another reason: Students say they are looking forward to the days before the pandemic.
“I’m ready to bring my life back to normal and I can meet friends and family around the world that I’ve never been able to do before,” said second-year student Emily Fowler.
The Allegheny Health Network has partnered with Balwin High School to host the first vaccine clinic for students aged 16-18.
Approximately 110 students registered to receive the first dose of Pfizer and required parental consent. They get the second one on June 3rd.
“It’s nice to see teens vaccinated,” said Laura Mark, vice president of Allegheny Health Network Pharmacy. “This is the only way we can get back to normal and bring school back to session.”

Sprouse also states that as more students are vaccinated, there will be fewer educational setbacks.
“Once you’re fully vaccinated, you don’t have to worry about having to quarantine,” Sprouse said. “It allows them to be part of the school community without interruption. It allows them to remain engraved in their educational program.”
Currently, these sophomores are encouraging their peers to follow their leadership.
“The more vaccinated you are, the less likely you are to die or get infected with corona,” Book said.
“If you want to go back anywhere, and bring the world back to normal, it’s definitely worth it because it’s the first step,” Fowler said.
There is another Pfizer Vaccine Clinic at Balwyn High School on May 22nd. Available to anyone in the community over 12 years old.
ANH also plans to hold more clinics in schools to reach a younger population. The network is also giving a second dose at the Jewish Community Center on Thursday. About 1,250 people will be fully vaccinated.
