March 28: Streaming series are often on hold for months before appearing on a streaming service “American Rust,” which premiered on Amazon's Prime Video earlier today, has been locked to August 2023, but after the strikes, Paramount+ is really pushing back the third season of “Mayor of Kingstown”, filmed in Pittsburgh, announcing a premiere date of June 2 even though filming will not end until May.
A trailer opens with a funeral scene presumably for Dianne Wiest's character; she doesn't return for season three and then moves on to all sorts of violent mayhem, as is this series' wont.
The third season's storyline reveals “a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mafia moves into the city and a war on drugs rages within and outside the prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) to end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the “Mayor's” attempts to keep the peace between all factions. »
The third season of the series will star Renner, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley and Michael Beach.
The third season marks Renner's first acting role on the series since he was seriously injured in a snowplow accident in January 2023.
