'Gen V' Won't Recast Chance Perdomo Role After Actor's Death

Generation V Producers have confirmed that Chance Perdomo's role in season 2 will not be recast following the actor's death.

In a statement shared on social media, the series' producers Prime Video said that Perdomo's Andre Anderson will not be played by another actor when the series returns.

“As we continue to deal with the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is committed to finding the best way to honor his memory,” reads the producers' statement shared on Instagram. “We will not be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance.”

The statement continued: “Instead, we took the time and space to refract our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.

Perdomo died March 30 in a motorcycle accident. The Gen V cast and producers were supposed to meet for their first table read of Season 2, with filming set to begin April 8 in Toronto. However, following Perdomo's sudden death, production of the series was delayed.

On Generation V, Perdomo played Andre Anderson, a popular student with magnetic manipulation abilities. In The boys spin-off, he starred alongside Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.

After learning of Perdomo's death, the Generation V The actors released a joint statement to remember the late actor.

“Our hearts go out to Chance’s loved ones as we mourn this shocking loss,” the statement read. “We will remember the special times we spent together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he always carried with him. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed.
