Office spinoff coming to Peacock Macomb Daily

A new series set in the same universe as The Office has been picked up by the streaming service Peacock.
The new series was created by Greg Daniels, who adapted the American version of The Office, with Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who created the British version of the series, also serve as producers.
The untitled series is expected to go into production in July.
The documentary team that immortalized the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflins is looking for a new subject when they discover a historic Midwest newspaper on the verge of disappearing and the publisher attempts to revive it with journalists volunteers, according to a press release.
The show promises an ensemble cast, but for now onlyDomhnall Gleeson(Star Wars: The Force Awakens, About Time) andSabrina Impacciatore(The White Lotus) were announced.
The American version of The Office aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013, but has maintained its fandom through streaming and with reruns in syndication.
It's been more than 10 years since the last episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to grow in popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock, said Lisa Katz, president of scripted content at NBCUniversal. This new series set in the Dunder Mifflin universe introduces a new cast of characters in a new setting conducive to comic storytelling: an everyday life.
