Days before their big awards show, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association addresses the recent LA Times report which revealed that the group of 87 foreign journalists responsible for nominating and distributing the Golden Globes currently has no black members. That is true. 0 out of 87. According to Hollywood Reporter, the HFPA vowed to do better ahead of the 78th Golden Globe Awards, which snubbed black-featured and black-centric TV programs like I can destroy you and Unsafe in favor of lighter and more European tariffs. We are fully committed to ensuring that our members reflect the communities around the world who love film, television and the artists who inspire and educate them, the HFPA said in a statement to the Times.
