Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan said the postponement of the rally should not be seen as a sign of weakness.

PTI leaders Babar Azam Swati and Barrister Gohar told the media that Imran Khan had summoned them for a meeting. Imran Khan noted that there are reports that religious parties are gathering in the red zone of Islamabad to protect the sanctity of the finality of prophethood, and stressed that his party holds this principle in high esteem.

PTI leaders mentioned that the rally in Tarnol was postponed as per Imran Khan's instructions, but he clarified that those seeking freedom should not consider this decision as a sign of weakness.

He stressed that his party believes in peaceful political and legal struggles and took this decision to avoid unrest.

He also demanded that CCTV footage be released if there is evidence of involvement in the May 9 incident, saying their fight is for the rule of justice and law.

Khan reiterated that the rallies in Lahore on August 27 and Islamabad on September 8 must go ahead.

Imran Khan urged the “decision makers”, rather than the PDM government, to uphold the public mandate to prevent a national disaster.

He stressed that only respect for the Constitution and law can take the country forward. Khan also denounced the ongoing conspiracies against the KP government, saying he could not tolerate them.

PTI leaders added that they would approach the Supreme Court tomorrow regarding the “damages caused by the decision of Justices Aamer Farooq and Qazi Faez Isa”.

They will also discuss the petition filed against the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner.

Imran Khan reiterated that he did not want any unrest in the country and the difficult decision to postpone the rally was taken to avoid it.
