Has the PSF announced demonstrations for the release of Imran Khan?

Demand: The Pakistan Students Federation has demanded Imran Khan's release by August 30 and warned of protests if its demand is not met.

Fact: Pakistan Students Federation does not exist. The warning actually comes from Insaf Students Federation.

On August 8, the Instagram account @theverified.pk posted a photo with the following caption: Pakistan Students Federation warns Pakistani governor of any protest to release Imran Khan before August 30.

According to various sources and as confirmed by presenter Imran Riaz through his recent vlog, it has been confirmed that the protest started in KPK and then in Punjab.

The photo was then shared on several social media platforms, including in a Facebook post with the caption: Pakistan Students Federation warns against protests in Pakistan.

Fact or fiction?

To investigate this claim, Soch Fact Check conducted a Google search for the Pakistan Students Federation, but we did not find any relevant official website or account.

We then searched the YouTube channel of Imran Riaz Khan, whose name was mentioned in the complaint. We found a video he posted on August 8 on his YouTube channel, in which he referred to videos shared by the Insaf Students Federation. He said, “A movement is emerging. The Insaf Students Federation, which is the student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has taken the lead.”

Young people have started gathering. Today I saw some clips shared by them [ISF]where they also delivered speeches. They called on student wings of other political parties to join them in launching a student movement in Pakistan, and they issued warnings on several occasions.

Later, we searched for the Insaf Students Federation and found their Instagram account. On August 8, the Insaf Students Federation shared a video of a press conference held at the Islamabad Press Club on their Instagram account, captioned:

Keyboard

[Translated from Urdu: Today we, the youth of social media, are being called digital terrorists, I swear to God, when the fifth generation hybrid war was launched on Pakistan, we were keyboard warriors and front line soldiers, who have become touts today, when will such a situation arise again? So they will run away,

Convenor ISF Islamabad Amjad Ali Shah]

In the video, the speaker says, “We have already organized this movement. We have held several congresses. The students are already motivated and motivated. We just need our message to reach them and they will join us. And InshaAllah, very soon, you will see a massive gathering in Islamabad.”

This was followed by another video, captioned:

[Translated from Urdu: ISF leadership has put their demands forward.

The demands are very clear and these demands will have to be accepted by this fascist government]

The ISF also stated its demands: “We demand that the rule of law and justice be restored in this country. Imran Khan Sahab and all political workers must be released. Thirdly, student unions must be restored and tuition fees must be reduced by 30%. Kidnappings and enforced disappearances must stop immediately and the abducted persons must be released. Electricity prices must be reduced immediately and substantial relief must be provided. These are our demands. Furthermore, I will gather all student organizations with their students and bring them together again on this platform, InshaAllah. And we will present our program to you. Our struggle will be concrete.”

This proves that the calls for Imran Khan's release and the protest movements were initiated by the Insaf Students Federation, not the Pakistan Students Federation.

Virality:

The statement was shared on Facebook here, here, here and here.

It was shared here and here on Instagram. On X, it was shared here (archive). It was also shared here (archive) on Threads.

Conclusion: The Pakistan Students Federation does not exist. The calls for Imran Khan's release and the associated protest movements came from the Insaf Students Federation.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
