3. China's first deep-sea drilling vessel commissioned

The Mengxiang, the first deep-sea drillship designed and built in China with a maximum drilling depth of 11 kilometers, was officially put into operation on Sunday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

The ship, with a length of 179.8 meters and a width of 32.8 meters, has a displacement of 42,600 tonnes. Boasting a range of 15,000 nautical miles, it is capable of being self-sufficient for 120 days and accommodating 180 people.
