A Bradford tailor donated wild flowers to his local hospital.

Imran Khan, from Ik Collections, Westgate, visited Bradford Royal Nancroy (BRI) earlier this week to hand over two large seed boxes to the director general Mel Pickup and the chief gardener Chris Clarke.

Mr. Khan donated gifts “in honor of Eid and to celebrate the safe arrival of my firstborn, which was delivered safely to the BRI this week”.

He continued: “It is important for the mental health of people who, when they come to the hospital, patients and staff see flowers in bright colors.”

Ms. Pickup thanked Mr. Khan for his gift voucher and added: “A big thank you to you, Imran, for making a donation and getting involved in planting today.

“We know how much our land and gardens are appreciated by our colleagues and patients and their families, and these wild flowers will be a nice addition.”

Mr. Clarke commented: “It's great to receive a donation of imrans – the flowers were instantly sown on two flowerbeds around the entrance to Bris Rainbow.

“You cannot underestimate the power of nature on the well-being of our patients and colleagues.”

The trust includes a number of wellness and reflection gardens through the BRI hospital, St Lukes and the community hospital of Westwood Park, which offer a space to relax and think.
