Boris Johnson says UK is not giving companies skilled workers

Boris Johnson has denounced the ‘painfully apparent’ gaps in the UK labor market by promising a new training program to help those forced to work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Business is not happy, the economy is underproductive and many adult workers are stranded in jobs with little future,” Johnson said in a speech in Exeter, southwest England on Tuesday. . “We are short of skilled construction workers, skilled mechanics and skilled engineers, and we are short of hundreds of thousands of IT experts.”
