Men's tennis breaks skid in two matches
Lynchburg, Va. — The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team won its match against Roanoke 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
Lynchburg captured all three doubles points. The duo doubles at number 1 Levi Vigdorchik And Alex Rintoul won 8-7 (7-1 in tiebreak). In number 2 doubles, Patricio Zepeda And Sebastian Sierra to an 8-2 victory. On the third flight Christian Zepeda And Shadi Kallel won 8-3.
In singles, Vigdorchik played on court one and won 6-1, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, Sierra won the first set 6-3 and defeated his opponent in the second set. Rintoul played in the fourth flight and won 6-3, 6-2. Christian and Patricio Zepeda played on fields five and six respectively. Both played an eight-set match and both won 8-7. Christian Zepeda won his tiebreak 8-6, and Patricio Zepeda won 7-5. Shadi Kallel dropped the lone match to the Hornets in a three-set battle. At number 2 singles he took the first set 7-5, but lost the second set 4-6. Ultimately he fell in the tiebreak 8-10.
Lynchburg (9-3, 4-2 ODAC) will take on ODAC foes Averett in Danville on Wednesday, April 17 at 2 p.m.
