Men's athletics battles at Holy Cross
WORCESTER, MA (April 20, 2024) – The Stonehill College men's track and field team finished in sixth place with 60 points Saturday afternoon at the Holy Cross Invitation at the Hart Field & Track
FIELD EVENTS
- Senior Jacob Pacheco (Merrimack, NH) came second in the pole vault with a height of 4.55 m (14'11.25″), his best performance of the spring.
- Senior Chris Cox (Warwick, RI) placed fifth in the hammer and set a new personal record with a throw of 49.00 m (160' 9″).
- A pair of freshmen finished back-to-back in the high jump as Keagan Fletcher (Wrentham, MA) And Drew Pierson (Ellsworth, Maine) each hit 1.82m (5' 11.65') and finished in sixth and seventh places.
- Junior Parker Hagen (Newport, RI) came second in the triple jump, launching herself 13.74 m (44' 2.25″).
- Sophomore Levi Wurster (Coventry, RI) had his best result in the triple jump this season, finishing sixth with a jump of 12.40 m (40' 8.25″).

- Junior Shea Drugan (Westfield, MA) set a PR in the 100-meter sprint, finishing eighth with a time of 10.91 seconds.
- Freshmen Will Tinkham (Stoughton, MA) seventh in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.01 seconds.
- Senior for the third week in a row Solomon King (Norwood, Mass.) made history at Stonehill, breaking his own school record in the outdoor 400-meter dash with a time of 48.18 seconds, which matched his best time in the indoor 400-meter. The senior sprinter finished second in the event and improved to fifth in the Northeastern Conference in the event.
- In addition to breaking his own school record that he set just two weeks ago, King also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.36 seconds.
- Freshman also competed in the 400-meter dash Jon Dougherty (Reading, Mass.) who came in seventh place with a new PR of 49.98 seconds.
- In the 400 meter hurdles, juniors Louis Warner (Kinderhook, NY) set a personal record with a time of 58.29 and came 14th.
- Freshmen Brendan Wilder (Waltham, MA) came in 11th place in the 800 meter race, setting a new PR at 1:55.56.
- Junior Jace Hollenbach (Topsham, Maine) set a new PR in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:59.70 and finished eighth on Saturday
- The team consists of second years in the 4×400 meter relay Thomas Forde (Mystic, Conn.), senior Connor Hughes (Melrose, MA), freshmen Matthew Malora (Harrington Park, NJ), and Wilder placed fifth with a season best time of 3:25.96.
