Hsieh turns in a low UW round at the Pac-12s on day one

PULLMAN, Wash. Junior Jamie Hsieh turned in the low UW round of the day, shooting a 2-over 74, as the Washington women's golf team opened play with the first round of the 2024 Pac-12 Championships at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
The Huskies finished the first of three rounds with a team score of 14 over 302, placing them seventh, but just five strokes out of the top three.
Hsieh's scorecard was relatively clean, with a birdie on every nine, in addition to four bogies. Only five players in the field of 55 women finished the opening round under par. Hsieh enters the second round in a shared 13th place.
Freshmen Vivian Lu finished her first 18 holes one stroke behind Hsieh, with a 3-over 75, while a senior Camille Boyd finished third among UW's five golfers, with a 4-over 76. Fellow senior Stefanie Deng was one stroke back, with a 77.
Play resumes Monday at Palouse Ridge with the second round. The Huskies open the second round on the 10th hole, starting at 9:20 a.m. PT.
A recap of Sunday's first round will air Monday morning at 10 a.m. PT on Pac-12 Network.
