Michigan football finally gets a commitment in 2025
Michigan football had not received any commitments in the 2025 class since Carter Smith committed midseason in 2023. In fact, the Wolverine drought was more likely to lead to releases than commitments of late.
Finally, the corn and blue stopped the bleeding, and they did so on a grand scale.
The first prospect of the Sherrone Moore era, 2025 Fenwick (Ill.) Oak Park four-star defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshall had seen enough and decided to pull the trigger on Michigan football Monday morning.
Marshall is rated as the No. 35 player in the country regardless of position by the 247Sports Composite and is the highest-rated prospect since Will Johnson in the 2021 class.

Has a background that includes basketball and offense, sometimes splitting out wide and being able to play effectively from that spot. Transfers that athleticism to the defense, where he is comfortable in space and in pursuit. Can change direction and chase down plays. Shows motor skills and does not give up play. Switches from outside to inside and has played up and down. Carries his weight very well, so he can continue to pack on the pounds and be a combo guy in college. Not currently in a bad weight. Long term projection is probably most likely as a five technology, but that depends on physical development. The combination of athleticism and versatility makes him a high-end prospect. He needs to continue to develop and get stronger with his hands from a technical standpoint, but it appears he will be a starter for a high-major program and have the basic tools to play beyond college.
