CHARLESTON, SC The Marshall University Tennis Team capped its fall Saturday on the final day of competition in Charleston, South Carolina, at the CofC Classic.
“Great weekend for Sophia. Everyone showed great signs of improvement,” said Herd Tennis Head Coach Johannes Mercer said.
Nel Van Hout had a perfect day in doubles with Aisling McGrane for a 6-4 win over Charleston Southern's Emmie Moore and Marina Skegro, along with a 6-4 win with Johanna Strom about Libby Blair and Hailey Troup of Samford.
Emma Vanderheyden And Sophia Hurion defeated Sara Erenda and Margaret Jaraczewski of Samford 7-5.
Hurrion continued her singles prowess this weekend against Samford's Erenda in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, while Vanderheyden recorded a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-1, over Jaraczewski.
