An emotional Jannik Sinner was celebrated for achieving ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF honor on Monday evening at the Nitto ATP Finals in front of a raucous crowd at the Inalpi Arena.

“It's a nice feeling, [it is] special to share moments like this with the audience here in Italy,” said Sinner after a memorable ceremony in which he received the award from ATP President Andrea Gaudenzi, former world number 1 Boris Becker and Head of Corporate Brand and Strategic Advisory at PIF Mohammed Alsayyad. “This wouldn't be possible without all the people I have around me and especially these kind of people I want to keep forever because it's a journey from the start.”

The tennis team and Sinner's family, including his parents, were in the crowd. The people of Turin cheered in approval as the home favorite presented the trophy to the fans.

“I just heard my mom crying, which is really cute,” Sinner said. “Only they know from my young age and from the age of thirteen, how many sacrifices we have made as a family.

“Now I stand here with one of, perhaps the most special trophy I have.”

On June 10, Sinner became the first man or woman from his country to reach world No. 1 in singles since the introduction of computerized rankings in 1973. He has not relinquished his place since.

The 23-year-old is the 19th player to earn the year-end No. 1 honor and only the fourth active player to do so. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are the others.

“It's a great competition between this and the Grand Slams,” Sinner said. “This is a very consistent trophy. You have to play very consistent tennis for a year, so this is definitely a very, very difficult trophy to achieve.”

The ceremony coincided with the launch of the groundbreaking 'ATP No. 1 Club', which includes all current and former ATP World No. 1 players in one place will celebrate their remarkable efforts to reach the top of the PIF ATP Rankings.
