Three Chinese Olympic champions withdraw from the WTT Finals

BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — World Table Tennis (WTT) announced on Wednesday that China's Fan Zhendong, Ma Long and Chen Meng have withdrawn from next week's WTT Finals Fukuoka.
WTT also announced the replacements for the three Chinese Olympic champions, with German Benedikt Duda replacing Fan, Swede Anton Kallberg replacing Ma and Romanian Bernadette Szocs replacing Chen.
At this year's Olympics, Fan claimed the men's singles gold medal before Fan, Ma and Wang Chuqin triumphed in the team event, while Chen defended her title in the women's singles and then teamed up with Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu to capture the team gold.
Fan and Chen have not competed in any international tournament since the Olympics, while Ma finished second at the WTT China Smash in October.
The season-ending WTT tournament will be held from November 20 to 24 in Kitakyushu, Japan, featuring the world's top 16 singles players and the top eight doubles pairs.
