The school team goes one step further to win the island tournament
The Isle of Wight Primary Schools Tournament was held on 27 November, with six schools taking part at the island's table tennis
Last year's runners-up, Newchurch Primary (pictured above), went one better this year. The children were delighted to win the event, which was organized by Rob Smith and Elaine Mills and well supported by many of their parents.
Chairman of the IoW Table Tennis Association, Alex Rorke, said: We always welcome young players who want to learn and develop their game and we are pleased to be able to organize this tournament for the children, as table tennis is unfortunately not always readily available in our schools.
We therefore thank the teachers and parents for their support and look forward to seeing these children again here in our table tennis centre, to take part in our junior coaching sessions, where they are very welcome.
