Dartmouth Falls in Ivy Opener to No. 14 Harvard

Hanover, NHNo. 75 Dartmouth Men's Tennis opened Ivy League game against no. 14 Harvard in Boss Tenn Center on Sunday afternoon. Dartmouth took an early lead but fell 4-3 for the Crimson.
Double
Alex Knox-Jones And Denny Bao The day started strong for the Big Green. The duo improved to 5-0 in the season together with a 6-3 victory in third double.
Carlos Guerrero Alvarez And Waleed qali Played the first double for the Big Green. The Dartmouth duo fell 7-5 when the Doubles point came to second double.
Henry Ren And Miles Groom Fight the point in a tight match in the second double. The duo got away with the victory to give the Big Green the double point. Ren and groom achieved their third victory of the season with a 7-6 victory.
Singles
Knox-Jones completed another 2-0 day for the Big Green while gaining the first singles victory for the Big Green. He played in fifth position and won his ninth game of spring. He took the opening set 6-2 before he completed the Sweep with a 6-4 victory in the second set.
Qadir took his fifth victory of spring with a victory in Sixth Singles. He won the first set 6-4 to take an early lead, but Harvard responded with a 6-2 victory in the second set. Qadir responded and won the third set 6-4 to win the victory.
Guerrero Alvarez played first singles for the Big Green. The senior fought in the first set but fell 6-4. He seemed to force a third set, but he fell 6-3.
Groom played a back and forth fourth singles match on Sunday. He fell 6-4 in the opening set of the game, but came back with a 6-3 victory in the second set. He searched for his team that led 13one Win the season but fell 6-2 in the third set.
Ren was closed in second singles on Sunday. He played a strong game against the Crimson when he took the first set 6-2. The second set was a tight set with Harvard who tied the match with a set each after a 7-6 victory. Ren eventually fell 6-3 when Harvard brought the total match to three.
The game came down on third singles on Sunday. Dartmouths Hikaru Takeda was closed in the third singles. The first set went the way of Harvard 7-6, but Takeda replied with a 7-6 victory in the second set. The third set was another narrow set, but Harvard took the set 6-4.
Dartmouth will be on the road next weekend for a few Ivy League matches. The Big Green look at Penn in Philadelphia on Saturday before he travels to Princeton on Sunday to compete against the Tigers.
