Elden Ring rumors discuss open world, exclude Bloodborne 2
There is still no idea when the next game from From Software will be released, but apparently Bloodborne 2 won't be following it anytime soon.
Elden Ring is the new game from the creators of Dark Souls From Software and involves collaboration with Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin, but that's almost all we officially know about it.
There was a revealing trailer last June, and director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that it features an open world environment and was a natural evolution of the Soulsborne series, but that’s really pretty much everything we know for sure.
But rumors have emerged offering details about the nature of the open world, which Miyazaki once said was not populated by cities but was dotted with ruins resembling dungeons.
An apparently reliable source is the Omnipotent poster on the forum ResetEra, who said the open world would include day / night cycles and dynamic lighting, weather and wildlife.
While none of this has been seen in a From game before this is not exactly new functionality for other open world games, and remember everything from Zelda: Breath Of The Wild to Red Dead Redemption 2.
However, the game that the poster chooses to compare Elden Ring to is Shadow Of The Colossus, which is certainly closer to the tone of a From game.
There is a lot of text and not a lot of detail for most Ominipotent publications, which means that the most interesting revelation is that Bloodborne 2 is apparently not in active development.
That doesn't mean it will never happen, especially since Elden Ring is Froms' biggest project and will take all of their current resources, but it seems unlikely at the moment, what many fans have already guessed.

Among the many things we don't know about Elden Ring is when it will be released, because although it is currently only planned for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, it doesn’t not been suggested that it be released this year.
That means it almost certainly also happened on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but until From or publisher Bandai Namco makes an announcement, it's impossible to know for sure.
