Magnitude 7.5 earthquake strikes remote northern Peruvian Amazon

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit the remote Amazon region in northern Peru early Sunday morning and was felt as far as Lima in the center of the country and southern Ecuador, causing damage to homes near the epicenter, but no injuries were reported.
